Welshcyclist...

If I could cycle in the comfort zone all day and get thinner, lighter and faster then I would do. But... it doesn't work like that, unfortunately.

Intake wise, this is something I am struggling with right now. Up until now, what I've been doing in a very unscientific way has been working just fine. And then it stopped. Why, I don't know. So now I am looking at it trying to work out what the hell has happened.

I'm looking into calorie intake information given to me by a friend. I will try it out and get back to you!

I just love cycling in the comfort zone, which you call "the lower heart rate zones", and I'm very glad to hear that fat burning is at its most efficient in those zones. However, I am stuck at 16 stone, my commuting maintains that weight, and I'm "clinically obese", yet I feel great. I would like to lose more weight, in order to look slimmer etc., but to achieve that, means a great deal more effort on my part, which involves time, and I don't have alot of that. There I go again...... kidding myself, my problem is I eat too much!!!! I need to look at my food intake big time, and get the diet right, and stick to it. Any suggestions ?
