The best bike shop in the North East by far. Based up in Prudhoe, Northumberland, Bicycle Repairman is run by Mark, Tony and Chris with mechanic Rob. If they don’t sell it, or can’t fix it, it isn’t worth riding. They stock a wide range of bikes to suit all ages, disciplines and budgets from top brands such as Giant, Ridley, Colnago, Look, Sabbath and Dahon, offer an in-depth fitting service, run a full workshop service and hand build wheels according to individual requirements. I can’t recommend them highly enough.

Burls Bicycles
Justin Burls specialises in building high-quality, made to measure bicycle frames and complete bicycles. His speciality is building made to measure bike frames using the time honoured material of steel, using tubing from Columbus. However, he is perhaps more widely known for his titanium frames. Built in Russia by titanium craftsmen (the same that work on Russian military equipment), the frames are a joy to behold and even better to ride.
